Physical Education

Hi, I'm Mr. Henry Huitsing. I am the Physical Education instructor. I attended Valparaiso University and Dordt College. I am a member of IAHPERD.(Ilinois Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance.)  I attended the 2009 convention at Pheasant Run Resort.  It was excellent as usual.  My classes are structured for fitness, learning, recreational and competitive play. My favorite activities include hockey, badminton, and basketball. In my spare time, I like to take of our pond and cruise in our black '57 Chevy.

But now, to the important part.   The 2010-11 school here is rapidly approaching.   This is my 37th year of teaching and enjoy teaching the skills to the students and watching them compete as they get older.  I teach in such a way that the students enjoy the skills and games that we play.  Success happens as well as failures.  We rarely keep score when we are learning to play the various sports.  

Our classes at LCS are 30 minutes twice a week for grades1-6 and 40 minutes , two or three times a week for our 7th and 8th graders.  Junior High students dress down for class and will need to purchase a uniform shirt from me the first week of school.  Athletic shorts or any style of modest shorts is sufficient.  Kindergarten will have class once a week for 30 minutes.
