MRS. VAN DRUNEN'S 3RD GRADE

Welcome back to the 2010- 2011 school year.   We started out on Wed. with a half day.  We had a chapel and did some singing and listened to some introductions.  Mr. Holwerda spoke about moving, (how he spent some time this summer helping two of his daughters move).  Then he talked about how we need to move ahead also this coming year - both in knowledge and in our walk with the Lord.  It was a good beginning.

Here are some things to remember as we start the new year.

Spelling tests on Wednesday

DOL tests on Friday

Bring your folder back and forth from home to school.

Read every day.

Check over your papers at home and correct the mistakes.

Study for tests.

Practice your Math facts. (adding and subtracting, for now)

Return library books on Thurs.

What we are working on

Bible  - creation, the flood

Spelling - Lesson 2 (short vowel sounds)

Language - sentences,

wrote a description

Social Studies - ch 1 (oceans and rivers)

Math - We worked on some graphing and now we'll start place value.

Science - starting with a chapter on water
