LCS Grant

After much prayer and many conversations, we are excited to announce the establishment of the LCS Grant for families of K-8 students. The idea behind the LCS Grant is that we are not raising our Kingdom kids alone – we do this in community, as an LCS family.

This educational grant will provide additional financial assistance for families who qualify. Qualifying is as simple as providing your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) from your most recent tax return, and all families whose AGI falls below certain thresholds will be eligible to receive the grant.

The grant amounts and income thresholds will be determined annually. For the 2026-2027 school year, the grant amounts and income thresholds will be as follows:

Students	Income Limit	Grant Amount
One	$90,000	$2,000
Two	$120,000	$4,000
Three or More	$150,000	$6,000

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I determine my Income Limit?

Your Income Limit is the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) from your most recently completed tax return.

Do I need to do anything to apply for the grant?

We will provide a very simple application form available both online or with a physical form which you should be able to complete in just a few minutes.

How do I receive the grant? Is it paid all at once or in installments?

The grant that you receive will be applied in installments according to your tuition payment schedule. If you pay your tuition in 10 installments, then 10% of the grant amount will be applied to reduce each payment.

How does this affect the Student Help Fund that has been used in the past?

The Student Help Fund has served many individual families over the years who have needed some assistance in meeting their tuition obligation. That fund will continue to be used to serve families now and into the future. The LCS Grant is separate from the Student Help Fund and is designed to help all families that fall within the income limits to make an LCS education more accessible.

Is this program for just this year or can I expect it for each year of my child’s education?

We fully expect the program to continue for many years to come. In fact, we would like the grant amounts and income limits to increase in future years. We currently have a commitment to fund the program for the first five years, and we have already received significant interest in seeing the program grow in the future.

What if my child enrolls in the middle of the year?

You can and should still apply for the LCS Grant. The grant awarded will be pro-rated based on the days enrolled.

How is the program being funded? Will it increase the tuition of those who are not
participating?

The grant program is 100% funded by donors and will not affect the tuition rates of other families. Also, all of our current fundraising efforts (Fall Festival & Auction, Steak Fry, Impact Banquet, etc.) will continue to advance the mission of Lansing Christian and keep tuition rates accessible for all families. The LCS Grant will be set up as a completely separate fund.

We currently have students at LCS and have always been able to pay our tuition. It
appears that we would be eligible for the grant. Should we apply or would you prefer to have
families in need use the grant?

If your family is eligible, we would highly encourage you to apply for the grant. It is the desire of the LCS community, including our generous donors, to provide a quality accessible education for all families, not just the ones that are most in need.

Is this program intended to be a response to the Indiana voucher program?

This program is the direct result of like-minded individuals who have a passion for providing a Christian and reformed education at LCS and helping families bear the cost. We believe that this program is needed to provide quality accessible Christian education in our community regardless of what else is happening in our region. Having this program funded and controlled by our Christian community will enable it to thrive and grow in the future regardless of what the government chooses to do.

This program sounds like it will really benefit Lansing Christian in the future. Is there a
way that I can help?

Of course. The first priority is to pray for Lansing Christian and specifically that this new grant program will help many children receive a Christian education. If you would like to contribute toward the fund, you can send donations to the school designated for “LCS Grant” program. Keep in mind that our other fundraising efforts will continue to need funding also.
