Year-End Campaign

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overcome with thankfulness.”

Colossians 2:6-7

Dear Faithful Supporters of Lansing Christian School,

As a school, we want to say thank you.

Our appreciation for you runs deep. We are grateful for you, for your prayer support, and for your financial support.

As you look at the precious children in this year’s letter, I hope you see the treasure that these children are to us, as we teach and train.

This year’s theme and theme verse points us to the importance of remaining rooted in Christ. In times of joy and in times of hardship, we are to continue to have a strong foundation in Him. Our trust and dependence needs to be on Him…in all times and circumstances.

There is something truly special about Lansing Christian School. Our teachers are compassionate and encourage their students in a special way. With our smaller class sizes, they know what makes their students thrive, what brings them joy, and what they struggle with. Our teachers care deeply.

We are a family at Lansing Christian. It is true! As with most families, there are times of joy and times where we are challenged with what is set before us. This is where being rooted in Christ is our focus. He is our solid and firm foundation.

We want you to know that so many wonderful and encouraging things are happening within our school. Our students are thriving. They are growing educationally, spiritually, and socially in amazing ways.

However, we do still have our challenges. As you may be aware, there is much debate in our country in regard to the best way to navigate the pandemic. Illinois schools are under tighter mandates in order to keep COVID-19 transmission low.

While keeping transmission low is crucial, it does come at a cost to our school. Our enrollment began to dip last summer when masking mandates were to be enforced again in Illinois schools. (Scroll to read more.).

Combined with that, we also had a loss of enrolled students due to the Indiana Choice Scholarship, which offers Indiana residents a strong financial incentive for attending private schools within their own state.

This has greatly impacted LCS, which is on the state line border. We had to say goodbye to families we came to know and love, and this brought additional challenges for our school in reaching our own budget.

This year, our needs are substantial. Last year, you overwhelmed us with your love and support, and we saw $181,000 come in for Lansing Christian. We were humbled and greatly encouraged. You truly surpassed our expectations in every way.

We acknowledge that we cannot continue to do the work that we have set before us without your support. This year, we are seeking a goal amount of $200,000. Will you prayerfully consider partnering with us to do the work that we have been called to do?

We know our God goes before us, as He always has, and He provides for His people. For this, we are so thankful. Thank you for loving our school and for loving our students as we remain rooted in Christ.

Praise Report

• We have a beautiful, new website that is now LIVE! Check it out! www.lansingchristian.org.

• Our Field of Dreams project’s goal was $15,000. We were blessed to see over $18,000 come in for this project.

• Our school board continues to look at new ways to have our school grow in number.

• Our New2You payout for September was $65,000. This is the largest payout since the store moved from Calumet City to Lansing. We praise God for those who volunteer on behalf of LCS, and help our families keep tuition affordable!

• The Student Help Fund assisted 14 families with tuition in the last year. This ensured that their kids could continue in Christ-centered education in spite of difficult financial circumstances.

• Our Golf Outing saw more than 100 golfers come out to the beautiful Lost Marsh Golf Course. The forecast called for rain that day, but not more than a few drops fell from the sky. The weather was perfect, and our event was an amazing success. This event brought in over $32,000 for our school.
